Selflessness
As a leader, we must understand true leadership is not found in an individual, but the individuals developed. The measure of our success is found in the success of those we lead. At the heart of this statement is a true selflessness in which you know the ultimate purpose of leadership is to build your organization a more capable leader to replace yourself.
True leadership is not found in an individual, but the individuals developed.
As a leader, you must care more about duty to the organization than glory for yourself. You can never show doubt or question either your abilities or those of your team. A true leader never ponders “how could I do this” but instead demands “how could we not do this?”
Refuse to believe the line between right and wrong is hard to see
A true leader knows that Greatness is achieved one step at a time. Success can only be achieved if you make your vision…their vision and by ensuring the team works with you, not for you.
The epitome of this is found in our military. They are trained to think faster, so fast that reactions are second nature… and they think of the mission and of the country first. This is seen in any crisis with military members present. Recently I was in a civilian venue with attendance of our military members. An emergency erupted. As most people hit the floor or sprinted for the exit, I looked across the crowd and saw every military member reflexively react toward the threat, in a defensive, protective and selfless fashion.
If you are a selfless leader, you will not hesitate when crisis hits your team. you will reflexively react toward the threat and those you lead will be by your side.Don’t hesitate because you think of yourself.
If You Are a Selfless Leader, You Will Not Hesitate When Crisis Hits Your Team
Very powerful video! Thank you to all of you and those you train for your selflessness.
