Like many of you, I’ve spent a lot of time studying leadership examples from historic battles. One of my favorites is from the Battle of Cowpens—a pivotal Revolutionary War battle in the South Carolina backcountry that showed how effective a leader can be when playing the role of a coach.
Outnumbered and seemingly outclassed, Brigadier General Daniel Morgan led a force of militia and Continental regulars in masterfully enveloping a British force led by Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton.
